"Japanese concept that refers to the subjective variations of the unquantifiable"

After two years of living through the pandemic, we are now raising a critical question about the role of humans in nature and the world. This thought-provoking exhibition features a diverse range of talented artists who have been specially invited to design and create unique works for this occasion. In addition, there is also a dedicated section showcasing NFTs.

The "Ma" exhibition by STUDIO RÖ is a thought-provoking exploration of the relationship between humanity and nature, and the delicate balance that exists between the two. The word "Ma" in Japanese refers to the intangible, the non-quantifiable, and this exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the many ways in which we are connected to the world around us.

The space itself is a work of art, with smooth, flowing lines and organic shapes that seem to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment. The colors are muted and natural, suggesting a deep connection to the earth and the elements that sustain us.

As visitors move through the space, they encounter a series of installations and exhibits that challenge their perceptions of the world and their place within it. Some pieces invite reflection on the beauty and complexity of the natural world, while others explore the ways in which human activity has impacted the environment and the delicate balance that exists between humans and nature.

Throughout the exhibition, there is a sense of reverence for the natural world and a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of all living things. It is a reminder that, despite our many differences and divisions, we are all part of a greater whole, and that our actions have the power to shape the world around us in profound and lasting ways.

In the end, the "Ma" exhibition is a testament to the power of art to inspire, to provoke, and to connect us to the world in ways that are both profound and meaningful. It is a reminder that, no matter how complex or chaotic the world may seem, there is always beauty and meaning to be found in the connections we share with one another and with the natural world.

  • Melanie Ashton’s artistic creations draw inspiration from the worlds that are often glimpsed but seldom “seen,” such as death and transformation, the untamed forests and solitary moors, sorcery, and mythology. Her work laments the gradual loss of our wild essence within and the dwindling natural wilderness around us. However, even amidst the delicately feral qualities of her work, there is a glimmer of hope for the wild’s eventual return, cautiously optimistic in its expression.

Designed in Scandinavia, each rug is handmade in India in collaboration with local artisans applying their knowledge and craftsmanship. • Isac Elam Kaid grew up on the Canadian Prairies, surrounded by the solitary natural world. This relationship and ongoing study of nature is a grounding source of inspiration. The dialogical relationship, between experimentation and matter, seeks answers through form, inherent material value and means of process. Prior to establishing his independent practice, he worked as an Architectural Designer, consulting with commercial developers and private residential clients. Since beginning his practice in 2019 his work has been exhibited and published internationally.
