MACHINE LIGHT

Machine Light is Berlin based British designer Ben Raine. Inspired by Brutalist architecture, Bauhaus and early 20th century designers, Machine Light creates futuristic lighting that is raw and elegant. Combining metal structures with exposed tube bulbs, the result is a new form of lighting that integrates into a wide range of interior styles.

Machine Light specialises in two areas, producing iconic lights for domestic settings, and design and installation services for commercial spaces. Central to the ML brand, is the connection to cult Berlin based dark fashion store Darklands. Over the last four years, ML has created bespoke lighting for all Darklands retail spaces, with the different aesthetics of the stores shaped heavily by the lighting.

The Machine Light core range of 'Dark Structure' lights fuses cold rolled steel elements with warm linear bulbs to create striking geometric forms. The steel is carefully selected and arranged, making each light a unique individual object, that will last indefinitely. All lights are made by hand in Berlin.
