RESILIENCE 02 by La Fabrique Noire

La Fabrique Noire’s artwork “Resilience 02” speaks to the profound philosophical question of how the earth endures the tumultuous impacts inflicted by humanity. With a delicate balance, the artwork features a marble bowl on top of the object, symbolizing the earth’s capacity to contain and bear the brunt of human actions. However, the presence of fissures on the surface of the bowl reminds us that this balance is fragile, and the earth’s resilience cannot be taken for granted. The artwork invites us to reflect on our responsibility as stewards of this delicate balance.

Jeremy Descamps is a Belgian artist. He works with wood and shapes stone, which is a material he is particularly fond of. Supported by the goodwill of a well known stonemason, the energy of the past is reflected in his work. Jeremy is an artist whose first concern is to share, to transmit emotions, to give meaning to objects and to sublimate the black, its reflections and its nuances. He offers wooden creations exclusively under the technique "Shu sugi ban" to build his identity which wants to be dark, his DNA, his black earth Charleroi.
